Oceans 2026 Wrap up

The annual festival of Junior Surf was held at Papamoa on the 19th - 22nd of February with Omanu sending a team of 48 athletes to the 4-day event.

Oceans (athletes aged from U11 to U14) is an opportunity for aspiring athletes to come together and race against clubs from across the country. The competition is aimed at giving future surf life savers an opportunity to compete and challenge themselves in a fun and exciting environment. This year was one of the biggest with over 730 kids from 52 clubs.

Omanu Surf Club athletes delivered some incredible performances from gold medals to first time competitors reaching their goals of making it  around the cans in each event.A huge thank you to all of the parents and coaches that endured the long days and early starts - the athletes surely appreciate it.
