Omanu Volunteer Lifeguards' Scholarship Recipients with Structure & Page Macrae Engineering

Congratulations to the 2023/24 recipients of the Omanu SLSC Lifeguarding Scholarships!

Structure $2,000 Scholarship - Awarded to Molly Shivnan, who is in her fourth year of studying Physiotherapy at Otago University. 

Page & Macrae $2,000 Scholarship - Jointly awarded to Rā Neilsford-Jones and Bella Etherington. Rā is working towards a Diploma of Te Tohu Paetahi at the University of Waikato's Tauranga campus. Bella is pursuing a double degree in Law and Politics at Canterbury University. 

We are immensely proud of Molly, Rā, and Bella for their outstanding contributions to Omanu SLSC and their academic pursuits. A huge thank you to Structure and Page & Macrae Engineering for your generous support, enabling our members to succeed both on the beach and in their educational endeavors.

BOP IRB Longhaul

What an awesome day last Saturday for the BOB IRB Long Haul race which celebrated its 11th year. This event calls upon some of the best IRB Teams in the region and invites those from further afield to join the ‘stage race’ and battle it out along the magnificent Bay of Plenty coastline, as they race from Ohope Beach to Mount Maunganui See photos HERE  Photo Credit: Ryan Hunt

Thank you to our Volunteer Lifeguards

A massive thank you to all our volunteer lifeguards that have turned up to patrols this season, our patrol captains and the lifeguard committee appreciate your commitment to helping keep our beach goers safe this Summer.  

Great to see everyone come together last night at our Lifeguard end of season get together evening, what a great way to end the season!

Surf First Aid Course Level 1
