The Omanu Lifeguarding Committee meet once a month making great decisions for Lifeguarding, information is fed back to their patrol members and the Board of Directors.

Refresher Weekend
The club refresher date for the season is set for Saturday 16th November.
8am at Mount College Pool
9am back to the club for the beach practical, CPR, First Aid and Radios.
11am BBQ and a club photo in your new Lifeguard uniforms.
The online theory is now open, please make sure you have this completed before coming to the practical day.

Lifeguard Exams
- Saturday 12th October at MMLS
- Saturday 23rd November at Whakatane SLSC
- Exam over 2 evenings 11th & 12th December- 5pm starts at Omanu Beach SLSC
- Saturday 18th January at Maketu SLSC
- Exam over 2 evenings 12th & 13th February – 5pm starts. Venue TBC
- Saturday 15th March – venue TBC
- Saturday 12th April – venue TBC
Patrol Lists and Dates
Coming very soon. Now is the time to let Nikyla know if you have queries or concerns about the patrol you are on or need to be added to a patrol.We will do our best to keep some friend groups together and try work the dates around surf sport events.
Uniforms
SLSNZ have a new sponsor AON Insurance and so does Omanu (soon to be announced). This means we all get a new Lifeguard shirt for this season and will be handed out on the refresher day.
A plastic bin will be put in the Lifeguard Tower for you to put your old shirts into.
National Lifeguard School
Applications are now open for the National Lifeguard School! If you’re passionate about water safety and want to take your lifeguarding skills to the next level, this is your chance.Over the 3.5 day course, NLS combines dynamic theory sessions with practical and scenario based activities and you’ll gain advanced training and develop critical skills.
